Ray Philly: Art-Focused Residential & Community Space

My Approach

Designing the Ray Philly site involved bringing to life its identity as a hybrid art-centric residential building and cultural hub. My goal was to merge rich visual storytelling with functional clarity ensuring people could easily explore apartments, community spaces, and creative programs.

Vision and Innovation

Ray Philly isn’t just apartments it’s a living ecosystem for artists, neighbors, and creative events. The website had to vividly portray the building’s design-led architecture, on-site studios, communal zones, and cultural offerings while making it effortless for users to view availability and schedule tours.

Identifying Unique Challenges

The key challenges included balancing detailed visuals of apartments, studios, and amenities without sacrificing page speed. Presenting layered content from residential layouts to artist installations required clarity. Catering to prospective renters, event attendees, and artists all through one seamless interface added complexity.

Resolving Complex Problems

I implemented a modular layout that organizes content into clear sections apartments, amenities, artist spaces, neighborhood highlights making scans easy. Hero galleries and lazy-loaded visuals showcased spaces without slowing down. Interactive UI elements like tour scheduling, unit availability, and segment-specific paths (live, visit, engage) guided users intuitively. Studio installations and bookshop features were highlighted with rich imagery and descriptive overlays to enrich cultural storytelling.

User-Centric Design

Navigation was designed for simplicity: direct entry points for living, community, and art. The responsive layout adapts beautifully on mobile and tablet images and CTAs remain crisp and thumb-friendly. Visitors immediately grasp Ray’s blend of home, creativity, and engagement.
