My Approach
Designing the Clay website centered on showcasing its powerful, no-code workflows for sales, marketing, and rev ops teams. I aimed to balance clarity and sophistication, providing an engaging digital experience that matches the innovation behind Clay’s product. Everything was crafted for intuitive navigation, clear storytelling, and conversion-driven interactions.
Vision and Innovation
Clay is a next-generation tool that automates data enrichment, intelligent prospecting, and outreach using AI agents and real-time signals. The website had to reflect that level of modernity and precision. My vision was to create a clean, modular site with high-impact visuals, workflow demos, and frictionless access to resources and CTAs.
Identifying Unique Challenges
The major challenges were communicating complex features simply integrations with 100+ data sources, AI-driven logic, CRM sync while maintaining user clarity. Balancing visual flair with fast loading times and responsive design for global, diverse audiences was also essential. Ensuring consistency across product, solutions, career, and resource pages added another layer of complexity.
Resolving Complex Problems
I structured the site around modular sections that explain workflows visually, pairing copy with animated diagrams of Clay’s automation canvas. Lazy-loading images and SVGs ensured performance remained snappy. I used framer to build a flexible CMS for case studies, templates, and resource hubs. Navigation components guide users to demos, pricing tiers, and community assets without overwhelming them.
User-Centric Design
Every user’s path from curious enterprise buyer to growth marketer to recruiter needed its own clear journey. Interactive elements (e.g. workflow previews, customer quotes) reinforce trust. On mobile, menus condense gracefully and visuals scale for readability. CTAs like “Try for free,” “Talk to a GTM engineer,” and “Explore templates” are prominent and contextually placed.
